Pros

Competitive Benefits 9/80 schedule (9 hour days with every other Friday off)

Cons

Unable to work from home, not flexible Once you are stuck in a position it is hard to move around You are seen just as a head to fulfill to a contract, no one cares about what you actually want to work on.

Pros

Raytheon Missile Systems is a decent place to work if already solidified at mid level career. Decent benefits for Tucson in general.

Cons

Hiring practices are ruining this as a desirable job. HR openly admits that they will not allow an employee to hire internally into another job that is above 1 promotional step above their current position regardless of qualifications. They will even vote the company policy on this. If an employee quits and then applies externally they stand a chance at that position but not from within. This has lead to much turn over of qualified and experienced talent leaving the company to seek employment with competitors.

Poor culture, ethically-challenged management

Pros

9/80 schedule (if you can use it) Job stability (company is currently in a growth period) Competitive starting salary Interesting end products

Cons

Ethically-challenged management (seems to extend up to highest levels) Unappealing culture. Overly negative and serious, poor morale, felt stagnant. Many lifelong employees without much desire to improve Lackluster benefits (and trending downwards), low raises Advancement is based upon tenure, not skills or performance Incredible amount of red tape and bureaucracy make getting things done challenging Inflexible work from home policy. Routinely expected to drive to work during blizzard conditions. I agree with the other reviews that stated “like swimming in maple syrup” and “company always comes first, even at the expense of the employee”. I went in holding Raytheon in the highest regard and left sorely disappointed.
