Pros

There are opportunities for great, career advancing work for systems engineers. It just really depends on the department you end up in, the team you work with, and the type of work that's needed around you.

Cons

You can hire in as a MBSE but may not do very much model based SE work. I've seen in development programs a shuffling of staffing that suits at the moment needs, where the work may or may not be interesting, a good fit, or beneficial for an employee. It can be great, but hiring in leaves that up to chance, especially if you don't know anyone.

Pros

Many good people and the employee resource groups are a great idea. Most managers are helpful and care about the employees

Cons

Some employees and managers can get by without doing much work. There was a decrease in 401K match in 2022 and the 2022 cost of living expense increases were below expected for many.
