Pros

Good benefits, decent vacation, get to work on my own. Love to be outside so that is always a plus.

Cons

No morale. The hourly wage is a slap in the face. Growth predictions frequently make you wish you kept track of the previous years numbers to ensure that mgmt is lying. No communication. No hope for promotions (they often hire outside of the company). No internal website for currently employees to keep track of pay or apply for new jobs. A day is frequently 11 hours and I do not make what I should be in comparison to other industries. Pushing to make numbers and you are never caught up and always behind.

Pros

In a good environment, this job has the potential to be really fun, exciting and creative. Events can be anything from airshows to concerts to beach venues. Doing this job right gives you a lot of useful experience in promotions, marketing and even relationship building. Also, there seems to room to grow if you can stick it out.

Cons

I think this varies market to market and field manager to field manager but, they don't actually care what's going on. If you work hard or don't work at all it seems to go unnoticed. Based more on seniority and favoritism than results. Like I said, this job has the potential to be a great opportunity for some one who wants to work hard, but there is also a lot of room for people who don't want to do anything at all and they get by just fine. Supervisors seem painfully unaware of what's going on or what they are even doing.
