Pros

- Seems to genuinely want to do some good - Ability to work with smart engineers - Okay benefits / perks

Cons

Forced to swallow buckets of kool-aid. During onboarding I was told (1) "Marc invented the app store. Then he gave it to Apple because he was such good friends with Steve.", (2) "We were growing so fast that we had to build the Salesforce Tower." Neither of these things are true. As everyone knows, Salesforce bought the naming rights for the tower and leased something less than half. They also referred to Salesforce Park (bought the naming rights from the City) as "our park". These are just examples that are easy to share. Being a sales company, not a tech company also leads to withering garbage like "we drink our own champaign". The humility that most intelligent tech people value is banned at Salesforce.

Pros

Good salary, good benefits, these 2 are the only good things for me.

Cons

No stocks. I was working on a startup company that later was acquired by Salesforce. The day of the acquisition we started suffering all the stupid, non sense bureaucratic process that they have. From the engineer perspective they have custom things for everything from bug tracking systems to monitor and deployment and all of them are terrible. From the "employee" point of view, no matter how hard you can work, how good you can code and the systems you made. They only care about documents, ppts, show off and to be an apple polisher of the people above you since your promotion is decided by people who does know you (yes, crazy right). If you are not like that there is no way to get a promotion. The Product managers (at least in the division I was working) don't know the products, don't participate in meetings, don't create stories, etc. You need to do all their work and they take the credits for that. All the "Ohana" and open, friendly, care culture is an absolute lie. I am part of a minority race and I made complaints to a former director who had made life miserable for me and many others and they never did anything.
