Pros

* Agile-like culture. * Striving to be on the edge of technology and innovation combined with conservative approach avoiding unstable and uncertain solutions. * As it has agile like processing structure, you have a good chance to get into a great team of passionate professionals enjoying solving complex challenges. * Minimal impact of bureaucracy compared with other fintech giants (Headquarters divisions only). * Ambitions go over common banking to become diversified tech ecosystem. * Great attention to employees learning opportunities. Sber has its own on-site university, MBA program, and virtual school with thousands of on-line courses. External education is also provided. * Sber is extremely big company, that wants to keep its employees, so there are lots of job opportunities within the company to change your job track when you'll have desire for change. * Well-designed and transparent quarterly evaluation that affects not only your promotion options but also the size of annual bonus.

Cons

* As Sber has Agile-like culture you have a chance to get in a team you won't fit. * As far as it is still a fintech many positions are available on-site only. In my case Corporate-risks data science team data engineer position is one of them due to sensitive data job restrictions. * Due to sensitive data processing many positions are available on-site only, for example risk departments and data R&D teams. * If you have low tolerance to bureaucracy and articulated corporate culture, it may be a problem. Sber has much lower taste for bureaucracy than other big fintech companies, nevertheless it will expect from you showing your loyalty to corporate values in many ways. * As Sber is the main government fintech institution in Russia, there are no job opportunities for remote work from abroad. Any hybrid / remote options available from Russia only. * Your total compensation consists of two parts, monthly salary and your annual (paid by calendar end of the year) bonus. The monthly salary is medium compared to industry level, and your bonus makes a significant share of your total annual income. So, your overall compensation will be higher than average but under the condition that you are still employed by the end of the year.

Really good place to work

Pros

Very well established processes. High development culture. Career opportunities. Annual salary review up to 30%. Depending on the grade, there may be a large annual bonus. Opportunity to work on interesting projects. Great services for employees, ease of signing and approval of documents.

Cons

Difficulties due to security policies. Huge multi-segment infrastructure = complexity. Agile fornication with linear vertical management structure (perhaps inevitable). There is a big difference in salaries in different regions - it can be very difficult to find employees in the regions. Staffing problems.
