Pros

Flexibility is great. If you have a long-term contract. That's about it.

Cons

- Harder to learn. - Lack of collaboration makes it much less enjoyable. Can make it harder for you to grow. - Flexibility is a double-edged sword. It's dependant on you. - Wouldn't recommend it for someone who is an entry level developer as the job becomes more proprietary than it should be as a new developer. There will be more work to handle such as project management, marketing, managing your finances. As an entry level developer, you should be focusing on getting better and learning to work with others. Level up your skill set.
