Pros

Stable work environment in the US in terms of job security. There is never a shortage of work. Following several reductions in force over many years and various acquisitions of the company, the people that are left are, on average, very senior people with little chance that they will be let go.

Cons

Most product development job growth is still overseas (where labor is cheaper), despite some, very limited, local hiring in the US. Raises have been lackluster due to current economic conditions. Key senior developers are given quite good bonuses while developers who do not exceed their goals for the year are given small to zero bonus. Raises are similar. HR rarely updates salary bands and generally seems disinterested in the employees it is supposed to view as valuable resources. Employees are forbidden from openly talking about salaries and bonuses, but given their spending behavior, and the timing of yearly bonuses, it is clear that the chosen few are highly rewarded while the many are largely ignored. Even cars in the company parking lot range from the most expensive cars imaginable to the cheapest economy cars imaginable.

Pros

Stable job, very very nice colleagues, some jobs have good exposure to multiple industries, flexible work schedule for software developers, low expectations from employees. It is a great place to work if you are closer to 50 and your goal is just to retire at this job, be okay with minimum raise but very high job stability. Very good work-life balance for most folks in software development.

Cons

Very low pay, non-existent bonuses, very low raises, almost no career growth. You need to be in right office and working for the right person for any chance at growth. Also, the company has lately hired lot of directors from outside at very high pay further limiting the any potential growth for existing employee base. If you are younger, just get out now before your skills and talent become useless because of very narrow focus and use of outdated technology. It is impossible for this company to attract top talent and if by stroke of luck they get one then those folks dont stick around. You will work with mostly mediocre talent most of whom have very little ambition and are mostly in it for the job stability
