Flexible work schedule, mediocre pay, and no career advancement
Pros
Very flexible work schedule. Great benefits. Stable employment. Good coworkers. Interesting products to work on until you get stuck doing the same thing every day.
Cons
Total pay is low compared to market rate and raises are often very low. No stock options, but you can purchase shares through a bad value share matching program. Opportunities for career growth and advancement are non-existent for most of the workforce. Blatant favoritism and cronyism run rampant, which is demoralizing. If you're not on the beneficial receiving end of this behavior, expect to not advance up the org chart and your career and skill set to stagnate. Meanwhile, the employees favored by management are invited to exclusive events and discussions. They are given opportunities to travel to customers and conferences to grow their network and level up their skills. If you end up being one of those left behind, it will become clear that you are just there to make the company as much money as possible with nothing in return aside from a mediocre salary.
