      Promise the Sky, then close your plant.

      Pros

      The salary is good, health benefits are just OK.

      Cons

      They bought our Dresser-Rand plant, promised to grow the business, and are now closing it- all in less than three years. Only profitable location they have in North America doing industrial steam turbine manufacture, we are the oldest continually operating manufacturing facility west of the Mississippi, 150 year legacy of profit for our owners, and they couldn't make it work for three years.

      Pros

      Siemens provides a great benefits package. The dress code is casual and they offer lots of fun activities. Good chance for advancement from within.

      Cons

      Migrating too many positions off-shore. Company is a little too top heavy. They give generous PTO but finding the time to take it is near impossible due to work load.

      Pros

      The name opens doors but once they are open they lack the inter company work ethic to be able to work together as one.

      Cons

      They have the worst culture for their sales teams.This is reflected in the Brisbane office having four new sales managers in five years. Also the complete sales team seems to turn over every 18 months.They seem to promote people into roles when they have not proved themselves in their current roles, Mainly because the management in the PD DF area all look after their pets.
