Pros

•The Exec Leadership team, and most Managers throughout the organization, are very successful, inspiring, and thoughtful people •Slack's pivot to remote work during COVID has been 9.5/10 (Friyay's, $1000 WFH stipend, $75 cell/internet allowance, flexible hours, etc.) •Transparency (good and bad) across the board •Best benefits in the business ($0 healthcare premiums, family forming benefits, generous parental leave policies, etc.)

Cons

•There are definitely some 'headwinds' in the market with competitors, such as MSFT, and it's challenging to close new business (not for the faint of heart) •Constant change.. it can be hard to keep up, especially with new processes •Some teams are over/understaffed, so some people are putting in a ton of hours, others are coasting 10am-5pm •Diversity at the Exec and 2nd/3rd line leadership level is very limited on the Sales/Customer Success side of the business •401k matching capped at $4k/yr •Vague paths to 'promotion' on most teams

Slack Response
5y
Thanks so much for your thoughtful review. We’re really glad to hear that you feel supported in the transition to remote work. The safety and well-being of our employees and their families are our top priority as we navigate these unprecedented times. We also appreciate your recognition of our transparent culture and thoughtful leadership. Our leadership team encourages feedback and we hear you on the rapid change and over extension fronts. We ask that you share your concerns in our executive “ask me anything” channel, in our regular pulse surveys, or directly to our people partners and/or your manager. We respond to all feedback and questions in the AMA channel and are here to support you. In regards to your concerns around diversity: we strive to understand and continuously improve the systems at Slack that impact diversity, engagement, and belonging. We are focused on expanding access to opportunities by optimizing for those with the least access and agency historically. We aim to continue to improve, and as a company and community, we are committed to growing together and investing in each other to build the culture we want. Thanks again for your feedback!
