Pros

Pays for your gym Pays for your lasik (2000$)

Cons

Don't ever join this team called MDP. If they call you for that team, stay far away. This team is filled with some of the most vicious people who will churn you out and beat you up. The goal post change every week. There are many daily meetings and you need to be there even if there is nothing to contribute. If you don't bother other people about things you are not trying hard enough. Managers micro-manage you and ask you where you are. Managers ask you to work over weekends. Managers ask you to work late night. If you deviate with what the manager says, you will pay dearly for it.

Pros

- Great health benefits, 401k, RSUs - Great co-workers (Santa Monica location) - Great environment

Cons

- Low pay (they tend to pay customer support agents lower than industry standard) - No work/life balance; a ton of OT. You are expected to do the work of 5 people - I ended up transferring to new location, but did not get a pay increase due to the cost of living in that area being 25% higher than Santa Monica - San Francisco office (very unfriendly office - I felt like I was an outsider and was ignored by others there) - I was unfairly passed up on a promotion because we didn't have enough people and I wasn't able to work on "special projects" and was stuck in customer support queues.

Pros

- The overwhelming majority of people not in management are very competent

Cons

- Most competent/good talent leave within two years of joining Snap, with many leaving before their first year. - Unable to compete with salary when compared to Twitter, Google, FB, Amazon and Pinterest. - Management are all trying to make their way up, so there is tons of politicking involved as well as nepotism. - Canadian Management team is a major issue. They've stopped coming into the office for over two weeks now. With over 80% of the sales team leaving to direct competitors in the past 8 months, they don't even show up to the office anymore. - The person who manages the Canadian leadership team is tired of dealing with issues in the Canadian office, so is hoping that 100% of the sales team turns over, so less work can be done. - I imagine this is what working in the current White House feels like.
