Pros

I was a part of a great team and everyone of us was doing everything to support, help any other member of the team. My manager was VERY interesting man, so I was enjoying our conversation. He always tries to adding me to tasks which probably are interesting for me.

Cons

In Synopsys is hard to innovate something to development/QA process, even if your advice/solution can help other people to work more productive. Also most part of staff is 50+ yrs old. And they are behind of progress in CS and not always competent. But there is another HUGE problem: salary. Salary grows extremely slow. Even if you was very productive in past year. That's why many juniors and mids leave Synopsys after 1-2 yrs.

Pros

In general, a good ambiance. People are very nice in the Wissous office and you get the feeling that they take good care of their own. The work requires both software and, to some extent, hardware knowledge which makes things more interesting. There is a lot to learn.

Cons

Technologies used are old. Mature industry. Limited scope in emulation.

Pros

The HR department tries ( in vain ) to maintain a good culture. Ought to give them credit for it. The facilities in offices are really good - from gym's to cafeteria ; from office sports to conference rooms.

Cons

The culture is really bad at Synopsys. Some examples : 1. People sit without doing anything just to show they are working. They would intentionally stay back and sit longer at office so that the management knows how 'hard-working' they are. Management also falls for it. 2. Office Politics is at every management level and screws with the employees at lower levels based on their games. 3. Increments - Minimal increments at the end of the year. I remember getting an increment lower than the year's inflation rate. What's the use ? 4. No interest in actually making a difference to society. All CSR activities are just done for the sake of proving that the company is using the CSR funds. No emphasis on actually making a difference to society. 5. Minimal connection or information sharing with employees at starting positions ( e.g. R&D Engineer) regarding the business as a whole and how the industry trends are impacting the business. One doesn't get to know what impact he/she is making or what impact industry trends would have on one's company, job, work. 6. Really bad management of projects - no one sticks to timelines- especially managers. Then, things go awry or the projects falls behind schedule. Then everyone puts pressure to work long hours and deliver. Such mismanagement is really not expected from an industry leader.
