Pros

Getting your foot in the door, good insurance, good peers, great learning opportunity, enjoyed the work. I am hopeful for the SFDC buy out and what effect that will have on Tableau; I hope for the better.

Cons

The Order Management department is in need of some serious attention, and not because the employees are doing anything wrong. The moral is low, it ebbs and flows, but it's more often than naught, very low. And the problems are as laid out as below.

Not what it used to be

Pros

Overall, folks here are sharp and friendly, helpful, and fun to work with. The pay is good, benefits are top-notch, and there are snacks in kitchen (though these have been significantly reduced over past 1.5 years). Good work-life balance overall. The product is first-class and the customers are passionate about it. It's hard to beat working on something that folks are so grateful for.

Cons

Things have changed for the worse here in the past couple of years, especially as the growth has slowed. The perks are decreasing -- less food/lower quality food in the kitchens, fewer folks able to attend the customer conference, and those who do have to double-up in rooms (who wants to share a room with a random coworker??), no holiday party. There's now a prevalent attitude of "not my job/problem" and siloing, rather than people focusing on customer/company success. Bad hires/promotions have hurt the culture, and there a number of ineffective (and actively harmful) middle managers. Top-level management in the dev org is disengaged and inaccessible, often sitting in their offices behind closed doors. Overall there's a lack of accountability for decisions and outcomes, most noticeably from top management. Attrition is on the uptick, and it's easy to see why. Hopefully at some point it will serve as a wake-up call.
