Pros

Tableau is a great company overall. Great people, good benefits, interesting product, and good culture. There is a reputation for low pay, but I have not experienced that myself.

Cons

Tableau still thinks, believes, and even says they are in startup mode. At Tableau's current scale, this means enterprise customers are extremely frustrated because of amateur mistakes making for terrible product quality. Inside, this means mismanagement, no opportunities to move up in offices outside of Seattle, a poor work-life balance, and a lack of role clarity.

Pros

Great London Office. Free Food, Good onboarding. Staff are very friendly and there is a perceived amazing culture but in reality its not quite what it seems until you are a few months into the job.

Cons

Real cuthroat environment. Middle management do not inspire creative thinking. Instead you are indoctrinated in the one size fits all approach pushed down by HQ.

Pros

Wonderful product and very good benefits. A mission statement I can believe in.

Cons

Ineffective middle managers/directors through hiring have led to turnover of proven performers. Directors hired to lead technical areas have little to no technical expertise. I know directors that referred to technical knowledge or expertise in their resume but after interacting with them in meetings and 1:1s they obviously know little to nothing about what they claimed to have expertise on their resume.
