Great Branding Machine Without Any Depth
Pros
The best thing about Tableau is the people who are non-management. They are the ones who are keeping the company afloat with their dedication and passion. They are willing to put in the time and do their job even in completely ambiguous circumstances. They also offer great healthcare which is hard to find elsewhere.
Cons
1. Pay - they seriously undercut their employees on pay. Especially in Seattle, they super underpay individuals who should be paid a lot more, and well below Seattle's median pay of $75K annually. These are the people keeping the company going everyday with their passion. They do provide you with RSU's but the amount you get in RSU's does not bridge the gap between what you are paid and what you should be paid annually. Eventually they run out and you are still underpaid. 2. Management does not care, nor are they experienced managers. It's all about individual contributors and getting the glory where you can. You will be thrown under many, many buses, and it's actively encouraged to get ahead. 3. There is no career growth at all. Even if you invest in yourself, get exceeds expectations multiple years running, they will not invest in you to move further ahead. 4. There is not any education compensation, or attending other conferences besides their own. If you want to get ahead, you will need to invest in yourself. 5. You have no voice whatsoever, only those who have their "friends" in right places will have a voice. The customer's certainly don't, even though management says they do.
