Things have changed for the worse here in the past couple of years, especially as the growth has slowed. The perks are decreasing -- less food/lower quality food in the kitchens, fewer folks able to attend the customer conference, and those who do have to double-up in rooms (who wants to share a room with a random coworker??), no holiday party.
There's now a prevalent attitude of "not my job/problem" and siloing, rather than people focusing on customer/company success.
Bad hires/promotions have hurt the culture, and there a number of ineffective (and actively harmful) middle managers. Top-level management in the dev org is disengaged and inaccessible, often sitting in their offices behind closed doors. Overall there's a lack of accountability for decisions and outcomes, most noticeably from top management.
Attrition is on the uptick, and it's easy to see why. Hopefully at some point it will serve as a wake-up call.
