Gives you exposure across industries and business verticals. You have the choice of choosing your final placement post first year of rotation program You can postpone your area of specialization by 1 year of your joining. Start your career at a very high level compared to your classmates working in the same Tata company Option to move across group companies every few years

Cons

Pay package just below International banks and top consultancy firms Group is generally bureaucratic

2nd full time rotation is very difficult to get. Need to work it on your oown with hardly any support

Pros

Some TATA Group policies trickle down but the implementation is adhoc e.g. would be Individual Development Plan.

Cons

Since there are a number of Business Units, one can be transferred to any BU - It can have a positive as well as negative impact. Mgmt trainees hired before 2008 were from small B schools and later Executive Trainees from slightly better B schools and engineering colleges were hired, but huge salary difference. Reason given that they are Mgmt trainees and you are Executive trainees.
