Pros

- Good company to work for (in support) till 2014 (If one can time travel just to work for any company then this is best place to work :P) - Teradata has complex and very well designed product. Work is very interesting, no matter what support team you work for, there is lot of opportunity to explore and learn (alone) different technologies and ultimately gives you a chance to make your resume heavier. - Good allowance structure (Though it is bit biased). - Initial offering is good.

Cons

- Coffee vending machine is outside of office (Auriga) and also buy a new tong to squeeze tea bags/ for sugar cubes, old one broke long time back :( it hardly costs 1-2 USD. Don't be miser at such level. - Lot of talent is leaving company and has given a opportunity for few bad employees and few bad managers to build their family in a team. (Get the people in team based on how you know personally and related to you in one or other way, than the way by actual interview process). Pro for bad employee/manager: Is to brainwash other people and get the appreciation from them and their so called family and has given opportunity for bad politics. Which I saw in my last year of service with company. - Most of Tech Leads reject well experienced candidates in interview, just because they feel as a potential threat to them. - Promotions and New Hiring depends on “number” of years of experience, rather than knowledge and skill level one holds. - Most of support (Product support) engineers lack out of box thinking. - There is almost zero knowledge transfer/sharing within/outside of support team. - Some of the managers judge their team members based on number of emails you send to engineering reporting product defects or RCA, while people who share their knowledge within the team and help team’s knowledge level grow are ignored. - Management does not motivate new ideas and talent recognition, except for the ones they support/like (Biased management). - No Grouping of people and almost zero team building and recreational activities. People hardly get 2 team lunch per year and that depends on on-site person. - Some teams still carry "Sir" culture, which is weird for me.
