Typical meetings contain the phrases "... have to fight for it..." and "... put pressure on ..." It takes ages for things to get done, even if it makes plain business sense. If you don't keep on spending your energy and time on poking and pushing, nothing gets done. While it is accepted to work from home, the infrastructure and culture is not very accommodating and the standard answer is "if you're having difficulty, then come into the office".
