Industry Leader, but has a few quirks like a strict chain of command culture
Pros
I have a fairly unique role at Teradata there are about 10 other people in the company that are my peers. In this role, I work remotely and have incredible flexibility with schedule. I get regular raises and decent bonuses even though those have dropped off the last few years since consulting and hardware industries have struggled.
Cons
Strict chain of command culture - makes it tough in my strategic role to get executive input. We have an intense governance policy for everything. Most of my job is working through these governing bodies. Takes a LONG time to get anything accomplished. We struggle with responding quickly as most big companies do. There is NO career path for me since I'm outside of consulting. I'm in a higher level role, but the most I could hope for would be a promotion in 5-10 years.
