Pros

Most folks are good to work with as long as you don't have to communicate with sales

Cons

Terrible work life balance now. The expectation is definitely nights and weekends. Rudderless management-we've had several CEO's just in the past 3-4 years. Now we have yet another one. They just announced that layoffs are coming in October. Everyone is walking around with a dazed look on their face. Layoffs are nothing new to Teradata (happens every quarter), but this is apparently going to be a BIG one. Unless you are a recent college graduate in the San Diego area, I would RUN away from Teradata. You can thank me later.

We appreciate hearing from you. We also understand the frustration that comes with experiencing change. Work-life balance is highly valued at Teradata, and consistently rated at a higher average on Glassdoor. Of course, we recognize everyone’s experience is different. We’re sorry yours hasn’t been better and appreciate the feedback you’ve given us. Thanks for your review.

Pros

Good database technology but many key engineers no longer there.

Cons

Inept leadership who monitor Salesforce activity more than actually engage with prospects and customers. Constant layoffs over the last 18-24 months. How can Vantage be the fastest growing product in Company history when revenue gains are mostly linked to existing customers converting to subscription based licenses? No new logos! Biggest marketing spin I have ever seen, Vantage is the vintage Teradata software for the most part, and rebranded under a new name. The Teradata people and culture were great for so many years, now most of those folks that were key contributors to that success are gone, many asked to walk out the door with no notice. Horrible culture with key institutional knowledge having left the company. More people leaving all of the time. Overpriced database technology that will be huge obstacle to growth for new logos, too many alternatives in the market.

We appreciate your 10+ year tenure at Teradata and understand where your frustration stems from. Change is difficult but necessary. Ours has been no different – and we’re not done yet. The Teradata people and culture have been great for 40 years and will remain so. While there are a number of contributors who have moved on, Teradata is constantly welcoming new and diverse talent to help take us where we’re going next. The investment in our customers and people is one of our highest priorities. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and best of luck in your next adventure.

Pros

Teradata has a culture of doing the right thing for the customer and has retained many employees for a long time. There is investment in improving culture and morale.

Cons

New leadership is out of step with market perception and continues to invest in proprietary analytics technology that isn't aligned with market needs. Talent level is uneven. Most employees are concerned about the direction the company is going.
