      I was at TD 4 years and every year there was a layoff. I trained a staff to do what I was doing and I could tell I might be next based on how my manager was treating me. She was making mistakes and blaming me somehow. I have four directors manage me over 4 years and say 3 different CEOs. The product development and marketing sucks and they are losing market share to competitors. The insiders, the same people who layoff employees every year due to their own mismanagement, sold a lot of stock right before it started bottoming. Says it all right there.

      They can still pay a salary from existing customer base

      Cons

      Customers are leaving Teradata They laid off prospecting sales team, so no new customers, Slipping product relavence compared to competitors as shown in Gartner positioning. All the above makes a tense work environment for current employees.

      The technology, the rate of change/ adaption and the very skilled and knowledgeable people.

      Cons

      Constant threat of RIF (Reduction in Force) which are a very regular occurrence at Teradata. Several times of year, without warning.
