HR is outsourced and does not really care about their employees. It is common knowledge that outsourced HR is rewarded for keeping salaries low. You have to write a justification to get a raise - bringing in industry comps. Why bother, much easier to find another job. Never mind that the morale sucks - that statistic is never measured, by the company.
100% travel is the norm. Work life balance sucks.
Thanks to Hadoop and other Open source software, their market share is shrinking rapidly. They do not even come into consideration anymore. Every account is figuring out how to get rid of Teradata. Teradata was notorious for locking you in and then charging you for additional features down the road - not any more. The heavy handed tactics have left a really bad taste and enterprises just want them gone.
Look at the 5 year stock trend - it pretty much speaks for itself and they like to call themselves a Big Data company - LOL
Add in the regular layoffs and you have a trifecta...
