Pros

Solid group of database industry veterans. Moving to support and be part of open source community. Plenty of interesting work to be done.

Cons

A general complaint is benefits leave something to be desired in states that do not have a large campuses like southern CA. Not always keeping pace with compensation from leading software companies.

Pros

My current manager is a great manager, but he has little control over the negatives faced at this company. It is a job that pays the bills.

Cons

Upper management seems clueless as to how to improve our products or manage a software company, and the mass exodus of talent and stock drop are evidence of this. They pay below the industry average for software developers. Poor project management results in an expectation of long weeks and weekends for the developers. There is virtually no path to promotion, and no merit increase above 1.5%, if at all. There is no innovation in the technology.

Cons

Not a very social work atmosphere, few in-office perks.
