Hourly rate seems great up front especially if it’s your first time in the position, but once you truly get your feet wet, you’ll realize that the service advisors are horribly exploited with the many hats they have to wear compared to the same role at other service centers in dealerships and such. Salary was equivalent to the lowest producing service advisor in other dealerships. If you match the workload at Tesla to a commission based role in a dealership, you’d make possibly close to 6 figures. There’s also inconsistency in operations and procedures. Turnover is absolutely ridiculous. Out of the whole facility, there was maybe a single digit amount of employees that actually worked there for over 3 years. Management is also toxic and tend to passively retaliate if you decide to challenge them or address something you don’t believe is right, especially if they get proven wrong in the end. If you come in with previous automotive experience, be prepared to bump heads with most of the management team. Most of the management have never done anything in the automotive industry and will get offended if you voice something to them based on your previous experience for execution. And if you’re neurodivergent in any way, DO NOT share with management. Even if you believe it’s to get them to better understand how you work, think, and process things. They will become passive aggressive with you, and since some managers are personally brought in by other managers who are friends outside of work prior to employment, you won’t get anywhere reporting them.
