Pros

Local franchise owners are tough but fair and open to input on ways to expand or grow. Job can keep you engaged with a complex assortment of printing, shipping, and general management tasks. UPS is usually pretty good about working with you on their end of things.

Cons

Advancement peaks at the store level. Corporate management is scattered and annoying. It's still retail.

- good work/life balance - competitive pay - family atmosphere - freedom to work at your own pace - overall it is a good place to work if you are looking to work in a small business environment but you have to know its limitations

Cons

- small business - individualized approaches - other not held accountable for their work - bad review and bonus structure - poor job of rolling out changes

Pros

Doing something different every day, great interactions with regular customers and fun problem solving. The business model is a good one.

Cons

Independently owned stores mean that some (like mine) are run poorly or the owners are a bit crazy and unprofessional. Be careful to interview your boss just as much as they interview you.
