      its a leader in its industry, but far too disorganized due to all the different acquisitions

      Pros

      big name brand company (name recognition) leader in its industry paid vacation, sick days, floating holidays given a lot of freedom to complete tasks

      Cons

      high turnover rate by management. it seems every year, one's direct managers are being replaced management is too concerned with climbing the corporate ladder rather than concentrating on the success of the company

      Industry leader, extensive customer base Headquarters in a great location Very profitable, even during this serious recession Dedicated employees

      Stock options only available to director-level positions and above Lots of uncertainties and confusion from acquisition of Applied Biosystems still being sorted out Some decisions on procedures, new initiatives, etc., seem to be made in isolation without any input from the front-line staff who'll have to actually implement them, so those initiatives tend not to be completely thought-through. Some surprisingly inexperienced people are put into positions of considerable decision-making authority.
