Read the book "Snakes in Suits;" it is a good overview of what things are like here. There is definitely and old boy/old girl network in place, and the only way to move up in the company is through nepotism, dishonesty, or brown nosing. *LOTS* of micromanagement: expect to have to fill out reports, memos, etc. constantly. Even though the benefits are good, the pay is way below average.

Employee respect from managers is minimal (we are treated like school children) No communication between different branches (sales, accounting, shipping...) Working in a windowless basement, Inside sales was a pain too, because our sales volume, is pretty much the same as the outside sales staff, but we get half the pay and the outside folks get a car allowance. a car allowance would have been nice, since i had to drive 2 hours in traffic each way EVERY day. Snowstorms were damaging too...manager would tell me to leave even earlier and stay later, basically spending 5 hours in a car in order to spend 8 more at work.
