The pay. Very low compared to industry standard with little to no growth. I have been consistently evaluated as "At Standard" by management, yet my raise has been below the inflation rate, essentially a pay cut each year despite having more experience. I feel very stuck in this job, like the only way to progress in my career is to leave the company. I have multiple coworkers who worked their way up from being an entry-level scientist to a senior team lead back before PPD was bought out by Thermo, but that kind of growth does not appear to be possible anymore. Between promotion freezes and genuinely insulting raises, I find it hard to believe these business practices will allow them to retain new-hires for more than a couple of years.

In my experience, there were some challenges with alignment and integration across the different entities within Thermo Fisher. Processes and ways of working varied significantly between teams, which sometimes made collaboration less efficient. I also noticed that leadership experience levels varied, which occasionally impacted decision-making and consistency. That said, some groups, like CRG, had more streamlined processes and stronger coordination, which made them more effective. The medical plan could be improved.
