Pros

Good place to learn, especially for freshers.

Cons

1. Although they say they have no jerks policy, there are a bunch of jerks, especially some project managers. Some of whom am pretty sure need to see a shrink. 2. The Chennai office is no place for non-tamil speakers. Even the seniors don't speak in English. Trainers who train freshers and chanted "speak in english" during the training, themselves forget all the culture they boasted about. Office events are filled with Tamil movie references. Extremely difficult of non-tamil speakers to survive, and very few stay for more than a couple of years. Every day is a struggle. 3. Given the language issue, teams are almost never balanced based on the language understood by the employee. For the sake of creating a diverse team they put a single or at max two non-tamil speakers to suffocate in a team of 12 to 15. 4. The salary is extremely less and expectations are off the roof. 5. They have this system of pair programming that they say leads to better code. Truth is it just helps them bill their clients higher rates and reduces dependency on individuals. Coding is an individual task and forcing them to pair doesn't seem fair.

- Well-diverse environment. Different countries, races, religions, genders work together. - Invests a lot in people. They have budget for books and training sessions as well. - Open-minded. Anyone can voice out opinions. - Trust in people. Work timing is generally flexible. - Flat hierarchy. No red-tapes. - True advocate in Agile and Technologies. - Work with the best people. Everyone is friendly as well. - Work in Teams. No one gets left behind. - Plenty of opportunities to travel or get staffed overseas. - Good pantry! ThoughtWorks embrace differences in people.

Cons

- Interviews are not easy, especially if you're applying for the tech role - Need to keep learning so as to keep up with the variety of projects available - Tend to always encounter new things, hence there's always a pressure to learn things fast - Sometimes they expect too much out of the people so it might be a little stressful depending on how you take it.

Pros

ThoughtWorks is a very unique company with very bright people. On the ops side, there are no clear career paths, so you really need to be proactive in your professional development and take initiative to move your career forward. It's a 20+ year old company that still has a startup mentality.

Cons

Unfortunately, ThoughtWorkers are rather self-important. New employees are not respected for their past experiences, reputation or skills. It seems as if new employees are expected to prove themselves to be accepted.
