Pros

- Remote - Autonomy - You will encounter some of the most amazing people (globally) - The majority of people are willing to help you succeed - For the most part, you can bring your whole self to work - Pairing - Learning and Development opportunities

Cons

- Depending on position, client site traveling has ramped back up (con if you prefer full remote/no travel) - Some people can feel lost/disoriented if they are coming from rigid-type systems (ie: some coming straight from college or laterals coming from waterfall type of organizations) - There is less focus on social/economic justice, one of the initial pillars once upon a time, "Advocate passionately for social and economic justice". - Pairing can get exhausting - For some getting staffed on a client can be like playing the lottery (you will hear "it's your job to get staffed" from upper management, but realistically you can only control what you can control and that is stay focused, work on yourself/skills) - Loss of transparency - Unfortunately, a lot of what made this place special has changed since pivoting from their initial pillars that made the company so special/different

Pros

Global community, some people who worked at the company during better times are still there, in the US/Europe OCTO people that compile Tech Radar are nice although they are based in the US/Europe Good projects for graduates

Cons

Company strongly focuses on outsourcing and belies any project can be done with quickly trained individuals. Very little people in SG have professional cloud certs and it looks like the management can't sustain higher pay for tech people (if you're tech skilled, just go to FAANG). They prefer to rely on offshore people and just focus on project management The management likes long term planning e.g. five year plans... There's no incentive to develop personally unless told in top-down manner by management It looks like consultants are oversold to clients, so they expect professionals, not juniors. My client that was using company services was so angry because of what they got, they were hostile to consultants and eventually stopped cooperation. Such approach is not uncommon, clients can be obnoxious towards consultants and the management even can't do much because at the end of the day, clients gives money... The fact that no one in the local management is in their 50's, is very worrisome. It means that the company couldn't develop strong enough business, so that more mature people would join them. I felt bad when was talking with some of the people from management, because of their immaturity
