Once you're in, you're low priority. They don't give you a better laptop if yours sucks, they don't raise you salary unless it's once a year or you go through hoops to prove you deserve it. If you have to leave earlier, or do something in the middle of the day, or take a day-off, you have to work these hours in the evenings or during the weekend (less rest, more burnout)
