Pros

Excellent benefits. Diverse working environment. Generally highly educated and smart people from all over the world. Satisfying to work for a good cause.

Cons

Little focus on professional development, with few opportunities for high-skilled individuals to stand out. Highly bureaucratic. Highly political environment in certain areas, which limits the room for being creative or "thinking outside of the box".

Pros

You are typically given a lot of responsibility and the work is interesting, without a doubt. Probably one of the most diverse work environments that you will ever encounter and some nice benefits such as six-weeks holiday per year and some other allowances for families.

Cons

It's a huge bureaucracy and many managers are promoted up based on their technical backgrounds and not their management skills. There is always work -- too much of it -- so you need to be careful to create your work-life balance limits. Promotion can be slow -- there aren't always good opportunities.
