Interesting, vaulable and diverse work, little opportunity for personal development
Pros
- International experience and ability to travel. - Good work/life balance. - Interaction with a diverse range of people and cultures from high-level government officials to local community workers and youth groups. -
Cons
- Bureaucracy affects the organisations efficiency and opportunities for personal development negatively. - Lack of needs analysis leads to low impact projects. ---- This often occurs as a result of the need to spend money quickly before the end of a programme/year. Money is thrown at a project with out the necessary research and cost-benefit analysis. - Little guidance or opportunity for personal development. - Contracts are often offered to employees and delayed leaving potential employees in limbo for months, equally little warning given to those who are to become redundant.
