Pros

Decent starting pay and benefits. Offers good entry level experience - newer management employess can be awarded high levels of responsibility. Weekends off.

Cons

Old school operations environment. Managment falls into trap of "doing things the ways they've always been done." Operators are wary of thinking outside the box and adoping new processes and technology. Due to the 24 hour operations environment, long hours are not unusual and a work life balance may not exist Monday-Friday.

There are a lot of opportunities within the organization in different departments to take different career paths that is something that is important to you.

Cons

The organization is changing rapidly the way it once operated. Changes are being made operationally and from a compensation standpoint that do not motivate its employees.

In my time at the company, i have been able to experience working with a very diverse group. Great experience with many different situations that help develop management skills.

Cons

UPS is in a warehouse setting, which makes for a tough work environment. the winters are cold and summers are hot.
