Pros

UPS provides employees a great deal of flexibility in using their time off for personal or family reasons. If one wishes to take on more responsibility to gain experience there is plenty of opportunity. Everyone is given opportunity to speak towards improvement.

Cons

Cutting edge software is quite limited and the ability to get onto a project of one's choosing is somewhat random. Career planning is left mostly to the individual as management changes are frequent (meaning turnover reduces chance of hearing positive things from the same person).

Pros

UPS is a big company with a lot of resources. There are plenty of procedures to make sure everything is done correctly. UPS is not a perfect company, but it really try to do the right thing.

Cons

Because UPS is a big company, there are a lot of red tape and paperwork to get things done. if you don't like following orders or procedure and paperwork, UPS may not be for you.

Pros

Pension, but new employees recieve a portable account that is different.

Cons

There is no growth in IT and not much advancement. The people who get ahead started right out of college and have been there for 15 + years and are willing to relocate. They are also men who have wives who stay home. Women do not have much opportunity to advance in IT.
