Pros

You get a month off per year. Pay is stable, dental/medical is free, and housing is paid for tax-free.

Cons

Deployments and changing stations means there isn't much stability. Your coworkers are replaced on a frequent basis. You have to be physically fit.

Pros

Patriotism, guaranteed retirement at 20 years(currently), opportunities to travel and if you don't like your bosses/coworkers the personnel rotation will shuffle you or them, computer programming field(if you do end up coding) can have you coding anything from Assembly to Cold Fusion, shared experiences leading to lifelong friendships are very common, excellent job/life experiences for young men and women

Cons

Easy to get stuck in a bad job/location for years due to manning, on/after E-5 will stop doing anything related to IT, AF seems to push enlisted to take the role of an administrative assistant or party planner regardless of actual job, computer programming field doesn't always mean you will have a role in the software development lifecycle

Pros

Working with the military is a great experience. It's definitely a culture that cares about its people, the benefits are phenomenal and there's a lot of room to grow and transform from a kid out of high school or college into a confident leader. Few places will give you the opportunities to move and grow as quickly as the Air Force.

Cons

With the ongoing budget concerns the Air Force is definitely drawing back on the amount of outside training you'll be able to acquire. Benefits are great but depending on your job the pay is sometimes lackluster. Enough to get by, but computer programmers, pilots and air traffic controllers to name a few have significantly higher salaries on the outside.
