Lots of opportunities for advancement. There is a lot of prestige knowing that you are protecting our country. You get alot of respect from the community.

Cons

Deployments are hard. Sometimes I wish I worked a regular 9-5 job and could be home for holidays and birthdays.

Pros

High pay for officers, health care benefits, and good life insurance premiums. There truly are no higher calling than thot of your country. Also, there are opportunities to travel that may not be afforded to most citizens.

Cons

Long hours and low pay for enlisted. Much of the senior leadership in the Air Force just does not get it. Many of our senior leaders are so far removed for the people they lead, I often feel their decisions are made in a vaccum.

Pros

These are some of the best reasons to work in the US Air Force. You can make reasonable money. If you work hard you can advance in rank. There are many different types of training available. You get to travel the world for free. You have unique recreation facilities to use. You can use free college education benefits. There is job security unlike civilian jobs. You can have job satisfaction of knowing you serve your country and are making the world a safer place to live.

Cons

Being in the US Air Force can be dificult on married life. Most deployments are about six months at a time away from your family, but that is shorter than other services.
