      No place for the settling down kind

      Pros

      The Air Force can be a great place to get a career started, and for some, to continue it, but if you want to settle down and really feel at home somewhere, or really get to know the people you work with/for, it's not great. If you don't like working with the same people all the time, or doing the same job, the air force is great. Even within a career field, like linguist, you can end up doing very different things at different bases.

      Cons

      You have to move often, and in some cases, as for a Korean Linguist, you can only go to some pretty undesirable places, like Korea.

      Team work, commitment, and a sense of honor.

      Cons

      Corporate mindedness of mid (squadron/group/wing) level leadership not focused on the mission and improvement of their replacements (growing the next generation) . This level of leadership is often more focused on the next evaluation or the next big ticket item for the immediate leadership above them. More often than not this is accomplished by the hard charging actions of a senior non-commissioned officer who knows that he is about to leave and is not satified with the current conditions.
