Pros
Educational opportunities, opportunies for personal and professional growth, job security, friendship with other soldiers, health benefits, TSP, allowance for housing is usually pretty good for each area.
Cons
Life/work balance, Poor leadership at lower levels (company, battalion, brigade), leaders at lower levels only care about their numbers, and how they will look to their higher commanders, no care for a soldier's personal situation..like.. Broken leg, but no medical profile to prove, lets run 3 miles then.
