Pros

Huge learning and training potential. Regular pay raises. Good work-life balance outside of deployments.

Cons

No merit-based promotions or bonuses. Lazy people cannot be fired. High performers get laden with excess work to cover down on the lazy and ignorant.

Pros

I have enjoyed my years of service with the Army. I am honored to be part and serve the USA. I have met some great people who are like family. Best decision I could have made. Has great benefits for the service member and their families.

Cons

Being giving short notice that you must leave your family for short or long periods of time.

Pros

The camaraderie was outstanding, keeps you driven. I’ll miss this the most. Lots of physical exercise, pretty good food on the holidays, and the medical system is easily accessible.

Cons

Long deployments, Soldier issues, Remote locations. Time away from the family can't be made up for, but time with your fellow service-members is equally valuable.
