Pros

●Typically ample opportunity for advancement/promotion ●Pay increases with Time in Service (TIS) and rank ●Lots of available bonus pay, examples include Annual Clothing Allowance; Basic Allowance for Housing (money for monthly rent); Hardship Pay; Separation Pay; etc. ●Global locations you can potentially go to live/work ●Annual funding for higher education opportunities (Army will pay for college courses) ●Full medical Insurance is provided ●You earn 30 vacations a year (2.5 a month) and they can be used at any time with approval from your leadership ●Retirement benefits from the Department of Defense, and seperate benefits from Veterans Affairs following your departure from service (you can get benefits from one or the other, both, or neither depending on your circumstances) And many more, I encourage looking at further reviews prior to making a decision

Cons

●Senior leadership has been in the U.S. Army for on average 20+ years, leading to generational divide in thinking/ideals between senior-most personnel and junior personnel. ●Not uncommon to see senior personnel receive far more lenient punishments for actions than junior personnel for comparable or worse infractions. ●Operates under its own legal code, seperate from both state and federal; if a crime is committed, the offender could be tried separately on both the state/federal level and within the Army internally. ●Currently a Peace Time Army - This is both a Pro and a Con; biggest risks you'll encounter is from everyday life and training exercises, so if you're seeking a movie-esque military experience with deployments and action, you likely won't receive it ●You are *technically* obligated to work every day of the week, at any time. Weekends are not guaranteed, and neither is rest/recovery time. HOWEVER; typically Saturday and Sunday are off days, but it is not uncommon to be placed on a work detail that potentially takes up an entire weekend. Work details that entail a 24-hour working window are common And many more, I encourage looking at further reviews prior to making a decision
