Pros

Training is Excellent. Money for college is awesome. Basic kinda sucks but anyone can get through. AIT sucks even more, but you can get real civilian certifications depending on your job.

Cons

The overall army cares about you, but most of the time you get stuck with crappy NCOs. They can really mess your life up sometimes. However, some are great NCOs.

Pros

Mission focused, service to country, excellent benefits

Cons

Promotion structure is less merit based and more subjective than you would think with such a large organization. Constant fire drills taking focus away from what is important toward what is not important. Ratings come from supervisors that are two levels removed, don't interact with you on a daily basis, and form their opinion on your abilities based on assessment from direct supervisors with a conflict of interest to blame their failures on you and take credit for all of your successes.
