Pros

It’s a job but it’s not a career.

Cons

Nepotism and a good ole boy plantation. Don’t ever plan on being promoted. The Deputy to the Commander (highest ranking civilian on post) is a local high school grad with no education and no military experience. Veterans stay away. They are all talk saying what they need to to suit the government but their actions through hiring practices speak volumes. Amazing how many military and management experts are in management with nothing but a GED or high school diploma. They must have had a M1 tank in their local high school shop class.
