- Job satisfaction - Travel to all parts of the world - Camaraderie - Sense of belonging - Submarine life was great!

Cons

- Early in my career, we spent a lot of time away from home, but it's not that way anymore - If you happen to get stuck with a bad "Top 3" (C.O., X.O., COB (CMC)), life WILL be very difficult and morale WILL suffer - Too many dirtbags get promoted to Chief Petty Officer just because their job rating needs more Chiefs - Using education benefits and other things to entice people to join; people should join because they want to serve their country, not to milk the system for what THEY can get out of it
