Pros

If you're a psychologist or an aspiring psychologist, the Navy is a fantastic option to do something you love while serving a greater purpose, sometimes referred to as the "most deserving patients" around.

Cons

Little control over where you'll call home, difficult place for promotion given focus on tenure and deliverables not associated with purely clinical work.

Pros

Adventure on the high seas! Booty distribution weighted by performance reviews! We pillage and plunder and don't give a hoot!

Cons

Grog and keelhaulings! The sting of the lash and the ever-present occupational risk of incurred scurvy! Being chosen to climb the crow's nest in adverse meteorological conditions!

Pros

Professional atmosphere, intense operational tempo

Cons

None come to mind. Serving in the Armed Forces requires sacrifices by the few for the many. Approximately 1 percent of the U.S. population serve in the Armed Forces.
