Pros

College money, steady pay, wide choice of jobs depending upon ASVAB score, sense of purpose, physical fitness, meeting new people, and federal job connections.

Cons

Would experience harsh language and attitudes, overwhelming amount of negativity - cursing, complaining, whining, and gossip. Homophobia - jokes, stereotyping, and general immaturity on the topic.

Pros

The countries you get to visit makes the Navy worth the enlistment. The benefits is always a plus, because you and your family is cared for.

Cons

The downsides to the Navy is the amount of time youre away from home. We would deploy for 6 months(understandable), then 4 -6 months later leave again. If you have kids or get married be sure the family understand what comes along with the military lifestyle.
