Benefits, education, travel, work/management experience, personal and professional growth, great teamwork and camraderie

Cons

Deployments, time away from loved ones/family and friends, does not support your partner if you are gay. Military is a dictatorship established to protect the democracy. As such, you surrender your personal freedoms. Example is ordered to get Anthrax and smallpox shots. Overseas liberty has become a joke and exercise in babysitting.
