Navy Nuke with Balanced View

Pros

Good benefits if you stay in long enough. Being a Nuke also gives me a good jumping off position for when I join the real world.

Cons

Not comparable pay to the same job in the civilian sector. If I stay in long enough I can get promoted even if I am not good at my job.

Pros

Nice place to work, felt like I helped people. Work climate was acceptable. Never felt unsafe or threatened. Overall, I would recommend this to other people.

Cons

The navy offers Low wages and inflexible hours. Getting on to base was a nightmare at times. The front desk staff was unapproachable.

Quality training and experience make this a good starting point for many people. Leadership experience begins early and there are many people willing to provide feedback.

Cons

Because of advancement trends during previous years, leadership may range from talented and dedicated to complete incompitance. In addition, there are very few screening steps to provide quality people from the beginning.
