-Travel -benefits (Including Tuition Assistance) -Good Pay -Feeling like you are doing something good for the country

Cons

-Extremely demanding schedule if stationed on a ship. Long underway periods, very little time in port. -Extremely uncomfortable living conditions on a ship.

No work-life balance in any sense. Work commitments trump all other commitments, including personal/children, etc.

Great travel opportunities and benefits. Get to work on multimillion dollar equipment with minimal schooling. Get college education benefits with minimum out-of-pocket expenses, only books and if the school is expensive, tuition assistance will not cover those costs.

Cons

Separation from family members can be lengthly, especially in today's economy and the housing market crisis. Develop a better college education program for those coming in to the service.
